Your Questions, Answered
-
I offer individual counseling for teens, young adults, and adults working through substance use concerns, anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and the unexpected challenges life can bring.
-
The first session is mostly about getting to know each other. I'll ask about what's bringing you to therapy now, a bit of your history, and what you're hoping will be different. You're welcome to ask me questions too — it's a two-way conversation, and there's no pressure to share more than feels right on day one.

Most clients start with weekly sessions, since that tends to build momentum early on. As things progress, we'll talk openly about whether a different rhythm — every other week, for example — makes sense for you.
-
This varies a lot depending on what you're working through and what you're hoping to get out of it. Some people come for a few months to work through something specific; others stay longer for ongoing support. We'll check in regularly about how things are going and adjust as needed.

I work from a person-centered foundation, drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and an emotion-focused, values-based lens. In practice, that means we'll spend time understanding the different parts of you and getting curious, so you can build more compassion towards yourself. You can read more on my My Therapy Style page.

I currently offer online counseling appointments on Monday and Wednesday evenings, along with in-person appointments on Saturdays.

I'm a private-pay provider and don't participate with insurance panels. Upon request, I can provide a receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
-
Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice, as well as missed appointments, are charged the full session fee.

Yes. What you share in session is confidential, with a few legal exceptions — such as risk of harm to yourself or others, or as required by law. I'm happy to go over this in more detail during our first session.

That's a completely normal place to start from. A free consultation call is a good first step either way — we can talk through what you're feeling and figure out together what kind of support might help.

I’ve hit rock bottom in my life and found my own therapy journey life-changing. I believe there is hope for everyone with the right support. My personal and professional experience gives me a unique perspective on person-centered therapy. I have experience in school and clinical settings treating substance use and mental health.
I believe people are more than their struggles. My approach focuses on understanding the whole person—not just symptoms—and creating a supportive space where you can explore your experiences, build self-awareness, and make changes that feel meaningful.
